Are you engaged? Are you newlyweds within your first year of marriage? Are you interested in meeting other couples in the same stage of life and making potential life-long friendships? Do you want to do all you can to ensure your marriage gets off on the right foot with a solid Biblical foundation? If this sounds like what you're looking for, you've come to the right place--the Nearly/Newly Wed Department!
Join us on Sunday mornings from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Room 326 where we meet together to discuss important topics that relate to all areas of marriage and relationships from a Biblical perspective.
Some of the topics we delve into include communication, learning to set boundaries, making the most of our differences, finances, the role of husbands and wives, dealing with joys and disappointments, conflict resolution, and much, much more.
We also strive to get to know one another in a more personal way through "Care Groups", our small groups that meet at someone's home on a regular basis. Here you can forge meaningful relationships with other couples and have an intimate place to share your inevitable joys and struggles as you experience what marriage is really all about.
Social events are also an important part of our department. From cookouts, to Christmas parties, and a variety of things in between, we know how to have fun with one another. We believe that the relationships you form in this group, can be a very important part of developing who you are as a couple.
Our team of teachers has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. Between them, they have 71 years of marriage experience to share, yet they are always willing and ready to learn from you too.
The Nearly/Newly Wed Department at First Baptist Church has been in existence for about 24 years. Our curriculum lasts for an entire year, but you are welcome to join us at any time.
Please join us on Sunday mornings for a wonderful time of fellowship, growth, challenge, and fun.
