Please read the letter below from Pastors Harder and Copeland. Dive into the work of the LORD!!
Dear FBCA College and Career Ministry,
We want to let you know about an exciting mission trip opportunity designed specifically for you. First Baptist is working on a mission trip to Central Asia during Spring Break 2012. We will be helping the missionary fieldworkers as they share the gospel in a great city that stands as a doorway for the Gospel in the region. This is a fantastic chance to visit an incredible country and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The dates for this trip will depend on who is going. Spring Break is not the same week for every school and we will work to coordinate the best time for as many of those who are interested. We are willing to schedule two trips if needed. If we can’t get Spring Break schedules to match, we may try for the first week after the end of the spring semester.
Cost is always a question when we arrange these trips. A rough estimate of a 7 day trip would be $1,500. Please don’t let the cost be a deciding factor on your participation. If you feel God is calling you to join this trip, He will make a way to cover the cost. Let’s talk about it.
Are you interested? If so, contact John Copeland or Karen Parsons at missions@fbcalexandria.org and let them know the following:
- When are the dates of your Spring Break?
- When is the last day of Spring Semester?
- Will you be in Alexandria during Thanksgiving so we can meet?
Please remember that even though Christian churches can and do travel to this region, much of Central Asia is still considered a closed country to the gospel. When you discuss this trip with friends please refrain from giving specific details. You will notice on our website we never list specific dates, the city or country.
Blessings,
Pastor Joel Harder
Pastor John Copeland
