Old Town Christmas Coffee and Open Mic

Christmas cards all long since mailed, bags are near packed, and presents are all a’bought; I think we’re ready to head to Texas on Saturday. (Okay, okay, I’m sorry to give the impression that I actually helped with any of the Christmas preparations… a thousand apologies.) I do hope that you are drawing near to the end of any last minute Christmas prepping. Christmas is less than a week away and I’m as excited today as I was when I was eight. Not the same kind of excited because I sneaked a peak under mom and dad’s bed and found the boxed set of the classic Star Wars trilogy on VHS (still have that!), but excited nonetheless.

My joy this year is caught up in a truly thankful heart as I reflect on all the Lord has done around us. Christmas has been everywhere in our church family over the past two weeks; with the LCT presentation of the Gospel and countless Christmas parties. In every event, party and meal shared, I see face after face of wonderful friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, whom Jesus has woven together with us in his church family at FBCA. I’m humbled and honored to know you all. We truly are living in an anointed time, the church age!

I pray that all of my friends and family at FBCA have a blessed and joyous Christmas on Sunday, wherever you are in the world. I pray that you enjoy the comfort of home and family; the joy of blessing and serving others in need, too. I pray that you find a new sense of the Holy Spirit’s presence in your celebration of the Jesus’ birth. And I pray that in some way, this wonderful event that happened so many years ago will have new relevance and meaning in your spirit.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Old Town Christmas Coffee and Open Mic. Especially to all of you who got up to perform a song or reading. There are pictures floating around on Facebook, but check out a couple of the videos that Justin pieced together, giving a good overview of the night.

Merry Christmas!
