Solid Rock Parents

The Solid Rock Parents' class is for parents of children in grades 7-12.  We desire to raise our children to become the next generation of godly Christian men and women and we accept this honor and challenge that God has bestowed upon us.  It is the purpose of Solid Rock to encourage, support and nurture our families as a reflection of Christ's love.  Our couples have the opportunity to discover and share that which God is revealing in their lives.  We enjoy sharing life's experiences together and learning in the company of other parents who are also experiencing this exciting and action-packed stage of life.

It is our prayer and desire that this group of believers will grow to serve several areas of the FBCA community.   We'd like your help in meeting these goals:

  • to reach up to God
  • to reach in to the Solid Rock members to minister to one another's needs
  • to reach out to and invite others who have not yet had the opportunity to join in our fellowship
  • to minister to the community as a means of sharing Christ's love and the Good News
  • to share fellowship with one another in order to bond together closely and form friendships within this body of believers.

Here's an overview of what we do:

Education

We currently provide two classes.  With the assistance of LifeWay's Explore the Bible literature, one class offers a systematic and comprehensive study of scripture, alternating between Old and Nes Testament.  Another concurrent class studies a selected book of the Bible.  In the summer, we also offer a men's study and women's study.  All classes are interactive and discussions on how to apply these teachings in our daily walk are encouraged.

Social

The Solid Rock Parents group schedules monthly fellowship opportunities. We either have  a whole family outing (for parents and kids) or a couples' event (parents only).

Missions

In addition to supporting church-wide mission endeavors, our class sponsors quarterly mission projects, such as providing and serving dinner at the Carpenter's Shelter, a local shelter ministry.  We also participate in seasonal missions outreach by adopting one or more local families in need through Families' Christmas Wish Lists.

Join us in Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in Room 340.
